Tuckahoe, New York (February 6, 2012) - Oliver Stauffer of PTI Inspection Systems will give a presentation on "Pouch Seal Quality Testing: Airborne Ultrasound vs. Traditional Testing Approaches" during the IFTPS Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, March 6-9, 2012 at the Drury Plaza Riverwalk Hotel. This presentation is scheduled for Thursday, March 7 at 8:30 am. Stauffer, vice president of inspection technologies for PTI, will review common inspection methods for inspecting pouches and airborne ultrasound technology for pouch seal inspection and as an in-depth process control tool.
"Critical issues with retort pouches continue to be seal quality and pouch integrity," said Oliver Stauffer. "Detecting defects early on in the manufacturing process is critical to increasing output, reducing waste, while assuring product quality and shelf life. This presentation will provide an overview of Seal-ScanĀ® ultrasound technology and the latest advancements for seal verification and defect detection including delaminations, inclusions, misaligned seals, incomplete seals, insufficient seal width, and many more."
PTI Inspection Systems will also have a tabletop exhibit during the Supplier Exhibit portion of the IFTPS event on March 7.
