Chase Christian

Field Service Engineer

Ever wondered what it’s like to work as a field service engineer at WNA? We spoke to Chase Christian, one of our dedicated team members, about his role and the most exciting parts of his job. With 13 years of experience in engineering services, Chase shares how his expertise helps him build strong relationships with WNA customers and deliver real solutions to their challenges.

Q: What are your specific duties at WNA?
As field service engineers, we wear many hats leading the industry in finding and creating solutions for our customers. We conduct in-depth Machine Performance Analysis (MPAs) and provide various services across North America, including conversions and rebuilds. Collaborating with engineering, maintenance and production teams, we optimize machine performance and enhance production processes. Additionally, we train on-site technicians and work with local engineers to implement best practices, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

Q: Where did you work before your current position?
I’ve spent 13 years in the engineering services industry working across multiple sectors, including textile, water distribution and packaging.

Q: What made you want to work at WNA?
I had the opportunity to work with WNA’s field service engineering team on a project, and to be honest, the attention to detail and the company culture made me want to be one of them.

Q: What is the most exciting part of your job?
It is meeting customers from around the world and getting to know them on a personal level, all while being part of a team dedicated to providing real solutions to challenges.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to work in this industry?
Stay open to learning, be proactive about addressing your weaknesses and master the art of commitment. These qualities will set you up for success in this field.

Q: Do you have any hobbies or guilty pleasures outside of work?
I enjoy playing golf and spending quality time with my wife and three children. Outside of family time, I’m passionate about my work with The Bridge Center, a men’s recovery nonprofit in my community. As an ambassador, I teach, mentor and counsel men in their recovery journeys, as well as facilitate partnerships within our community. It’s an incredibly rewarding job.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a writer. I’ve been fascinated by how people can convey stories and ideas through words, whether it’s in music, articles, poetry or anything related to writing.

Q: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
My Bible, a golf club and a good knife.

Q: What do you hope to achieve in the future with your career?
As our team and company continue to grow, my goal is to create meaningful relationships with our customers. I want to become a strong pillar at WNA, leading with purpose and making an impact not only on others’ careers but their lives as well. Professionally, I’d love to carve out a lane to help guide both our team and our customers' teams in creating a culture of success, particularly in engineering, maintenance and production practices.
